Travis + Anna | 4.29.17
We have had so much rain this Spring, so I think everyone was overjoyed to wake up to sunshine on Travis and Anna’s April 29th wedding day! Travis and Anna met almost two years ago at Crossfit Duratus. Anna coaches at the gym and Travis was a new member. It didn’t take long before Travis was seeking out ways to be near Anna at the gym and soon their friendship began. Travis proposed a little after a year of dating!
When I asked Anna what she was most looking forward to on her wedding day, she said she was excited to have everyone important to them together in the same place. Travis responded by saying he was very much looking forward to communion during their ceremony. It became very evident to me that Anna and Travis share a deep commitment to their faith, seek out a life lived in community and serving others, and approach their relationship with incredible intention, love, and respect.
Their pastor (who also happens to be my brother!) asked them to chose a scripture that would center their wedding ceremony and a scripture that might also become a foundational verse for their marriage. They chose Romans 12:9-16.
“Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another."
