I am thrilled to introduce you to my friend, Elizabeth Peterson, and her new business venture, Commune. I’ve had a tiny little window into her thoughts and processes over the last few months as she finalized the pieces of her business and I know first-hand how vulnerable it can be to launch something new into the world. I have no doubt that our world needs more people like Elizabeth. She has so beautifully connected her passion for yoga and spiritual direction together in Commune: Creating Space for Body and Soul.
Lucky for both of us, we were able to shoot this branding photography session just days before the WA state shelter-in-place order went into effect. Elizabeth Peterson is a certified spiritual director (Gonzaga University) and yoga instructor (Samarya Center) with fifteen years of experience working in retreat ministry. With a B.A. in Education (Whitworth University) and as a current master’s student in Spiritual Formation (Portland Seminary), Elizabeth seeks to create safe and sacred spaces for individuals to reflect on their own lives, become more aware of God’s presence, and know themselves as Beloved.
While rooted in the Christian tradition, and a lover of Jesus, Elizabeth welcomes everyone. As a yoga instructor and gardener, Elizabeth believes in the healing power of being present in our bodies and connecting with creation.
Elizabeth is married to Eric, and together they are the parents of a beautiful blend of six children. She and Eric live in the woods north of Spokane, WA with the three “Littles” and their yellow lab, Samson.
