Flynn Family

Spokane Family Photographer
So this is my heart right here in these photos. Every day is still hard without you, Connor. I am sure they always will be because a piece of my heart is missing. It has been four years (two years if you count Kenzie’s wedding) since we have had family photos taken and oh how I wish I would have done them last year too. I had no idea that one piece of my family would not be here the next time I got around to it. Thank you so much K.C. England for capturing our family so beautifully.

I am definitely not feeling qualified to be in the advice business, but I am certain of this... take the pictures (including you, momma!), write the letter, send the text, make the phone call, give the hugs and then give some more, do all the things, go all the places, say I love you more than necessary EVEN WHEN you are too tired, too busy, too messy, too imperfect, too chubby, or just don’t feel like it. I don’t ever want to miss a moment again. I know that is impossible, but I will imperfectly do my best. #PresentOverPerfect

These darling sorrow birds were hand carved for each of us by a sweet friend to comfort us and remind us of Connor when we are missing him. I am sure they will get a lot of use as we approach our first months of birthdays, holidays, and family gatherings without you, Connor. Love you forever and like you for always sweet boy. 💙

Family Photo Session

I asked Colette what she wanted to remember most about her family right now and her response was,

I just want to remember us. Together. I will try not to cry.

Ted and Colette's oldest son passed away unexpectedly in April of this year. This family session would be the first photos taken without their beloved Connor. It was not an easy day and I was deeply touched by Colette's heartfelt words about her family and this moment of time. What an honor to photograph the Flynn family during this sacred time of healing.

Ethan is a senior at North Central High School. He runs cross country, plays baseball, and wrestles. He is thinking about going to the University of Utah or possibly Grand Canyon University after high school and would like to pursue a degree in computer programming. I loved watching Ethan play with his younger siblings during the family session...it's obvious that they very much look up to him! Happy Senior Year Ethan!
