If you are planning a trip to San Diego in the near future, this post is for you!
We booked a beach cottage in the Mission Beach area through Airbnb and it was the perfect size for the 3 of us. The cottage was in a great location and we could walk to so many things. Mission Beach was just 2 blocks away from us. The only drawback was parking - very limited!
Food - we ate most of our meals near the Mission Beach & Pacific Beach area mostly because we could walk to/from our airbnb. We tried all of these places…Single Fin, Swell Coffee, Woody’s, Rosaria Pizza, Olive Cafe, Pacific Beach Ale House, Better Buzz Coffee, Miss B’s Coconut Club, and The Mission.
We found the very BEST shave ice here (thank you Mandolyn for the rec!) and fell in love with all the cute and colorful beach houses all up and down the Mission Beach area.
We spent 3 days visiting the parks - SeaWorld, The San Diego Zoo, and The San Diego Safari Park. My 6 year old loved the reptile section at the zoo. She also really loved the sea lion show at SeaWorld. Kyle and I had never been to the Safari Park before so I think that was probably our favorite.
Mission Beach - we spent one full day playing, resting, and reading at Mission Beach. It just so happened to be Easter Sunday, April Fool’s Day, AND Emi’s 6th Birthday! One of my most favorite days of the trip!
One of the things I love about my Emi is that she can make friends with anyone! She is always seeking someone out to play with her. She made friends with this girl on the beach and they ended up playing together for hours and hours.
Waterfront Park - we found this fabulous park near the end of our trip. If you have little kids, definitely spend some time here. We walked up and down the waterfront to see all the ships and stopped for food at The Fish Market.
Hotel Del Coronado - this is such a gorgeous property and the beach is beautiful. We didn’t stay here, but spent our last morning walking around this incredible resort.
We love San Diego! Until next time!
