We had some CRAZY weather in March! From complete blizzard to tiny signs of spring - we saw it all! And I must add that we are ALL very happy for spring to finally arrive in Spokane!
We celebrated Emily's 2nd birthday this month as well, but that deserves it's own blog post. :-) Coming soon!
Here are a few of my favorites from our Everyday Life in March...
Lots of interesting lighting scenarios this month including...indoor natural light, evening kitchen/family room light, school gym florescent light, afternoon backyard light, golden hour light, and light just from the fisher price play aquarium (had to bump my ISO up to 6400 to get that photo of Emily asleep in her crib). No flash used in any of these photos. I have been playing around with editing styles too - my preferences change based on available lighting. I am enjoying the process of trying new things!
And, I bought a new lens this month! The 85mm 1.4! Eek! I have been thinking about it for months...finally found the right deal on Ebay. :-)

There is something about January that makes me want to declutter and organize EVERYTHING…Lightroom library included! I was so focused on client work last year that I fell way behind on personal photos….minimal editing/organizing and very little sharing took place as I stopped updating my personal blog. So, I have spent every inch of free time this past month editing, tagging, and deleting personal photos from 2013 and it feels so good to start off fresh for 2014!
My 2014 challenge for myself is to share more of my own family photos here (which will hopefully encourage me to stay on top of editing/organizing!). I am thinking just one post each month dedicated to our Everyday Life…just 12 blogs, that should be easy, right?! No rules, just a handful of favorites from each month. I will post a few to instagram too – follow along @leavingamarkphoto and #oureverydaylife2014

Fresh snow just one hour before a scheduled session at a tree farm? Yes, please! Ryan & Andrya live on Bainbridge Island, but came home to Deer Park over the holidays, and we met for photographs on their family farm. The timing of the snow was perfect - everything turned fresh and white! Miss Audrey (age 2 1/2) was wearing the cutest and tiniest pair of Hunter boots I have ever seen...just adorable. Andrya is in the process of starting her own Interior Design business - her business is just getting started and you can find her here (just a splash page for now - but coming soon!).
