For the past three years, I have participated in the Shoot + Share Photography Contest. Every year it’s an incredibly rewarding and motivating experience for me. This year I entered 50 images (the max) with a goal of improving over last year. In order to select those 50 images, I clicked through every single image I took in 2015. Seriously, I did. And I took thousands of images last year. Believe me when I tell you that going through this process will give you an excellent perspective of your work as a whole – the good, the bad, and the in-between. It trains your eye and will help you hone in on your style. I believe that when you take the time to share your work, growth is inevitable and you will become a better artist.
The 2016 contest drew photographers from 120 different countries and over 225,000 images were entered...a crazy amount of talent all in the same place and some of the most incredible images I have ever seen. You can’t help but be inspired! Inspiration like this is exactly what fuels my motivation to work harder and become a better photographer.
38/50 of my images placed in the Top 30% or better! I am thrilled with these results and wanted to share the photos that placed. Thank you to all the amazing families, seniors, kids, brides, and grooms in these photos! You all inspire me to keep pursuing my dreams!
I had TWO images make it to the TOP 100 within their category. The first image place 40/100 in the Newborn category. The second image placed 90/100 in the Family category.
